Glorious Vision University, Ogwa, Edo State, on the 21st of November 2025, marked her 9th, 10th and 11th combined convocation ceremony with graduating sets of 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025 academic sessions.
The event was a gathering of academic heavyweights, political champions like Comrade Senator Adams Oshiomhole and seasoned entrepreneurs as the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ezekiel S. Asemah, declared the ceremony open with gratitude to God for His benevolence.
The Vice Chancellor, in his opening remarks, enumerated the university's exponential achievements since he became the Vice Chancellor of Glorious Vision University. He added that, in spite of the challenges of the university, encouragements from Chancello/Visitor of the University, Ps. Dr. S. G. O. Uyeh, JP, Executive Council of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, LAWMNA Territory, Board of Trustees, Governing Council, university management team, Senate, members of staff and family, have been resourceful channels of inspiration for him to remain vibrant in his administration as the Vice Chancellor.
The university's Chancellor, Pastor (DR.) S. G. O. Uyeh, JP, represented by Pastor Emmanuel Musa Abu, in his speech, thanked God for the remarkable achievements of the Vice Chancellor, stating that the Vice Chancellor has injected renewed energy and global recognition to the university. He also commended the Board of Trustees for shaping the image of the school with an extension of deep appreciation to all staff, as he acknowledged that the convocation ceremony was a celebration of God's goodness.
His Excellency, Comrade Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial Zone and the former Executive Governor of Edo State, was the convocation lecturer. Senator Adams Oshiomhole in his lecture, addressed the issues bothering on education, governance and national security. He explained the need for innovative academic excellence in the face of the dynamics of the realities of our ever evolving world; he also addressed the need for national integration and the harmonisation of the security architecture of Nigeria for the establishment of peace and stability which are the prerequisites for national development.
The graduating students of 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions were categorised based on their academic performance, and were rewarded with monetary compensations and other juicy offers accordingly to encourage other students to be intentionally studious.
Other honorary degrees were given to well deserved candidates as part of the university's convocation ceremony arrangements.
The ceremony was attended by Parents, Guardians and people from all works of life.
